end of the month

Today, Malaysia is celebrating her independence day.
Students celebrating pre-Teachers' Day.
I'm attending lecture after 10 days break..oooh so fast its school again.

Last nite, everybody except me & SH attending GM's father in law's wake.
The last time, I attended funeral wake was 10 years ago-felt so awkward.

Past few days, I had not been feeling energetic,Mak recommended me to drink the Jamu,
initial side effect, I will be extra sleepy than usual. The dosage gets you into deep sleep-to rest fully
but not to rest in peace, hah!

I'm worried about my concentration span-getting shorter
How could I memorise all the facts when nothing much goes in and definitely very little will be out during exams :p

Still have time to rectify situation-whatever it is I have to make the best of what I have now.
Will inform you of the outcome next week.

Peace to everyone!!

my idol

I managed to find an article on my all time fave man on earth-Glenn Medeiros.
Here is the excerpts from the bulletin :
read on:-

Whatever Happened To...
An update on past news

Kauai hit song writer Medeiros went back to his first love, teaching
Question: What ever happened to Glenn Medeiros, the Kauai-reared singer who achieved brief fame in the late '80s with the No. 1 hit "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You"?
Answer: Now 36, Medeiros is back to pursuing his original career dream as a fourth-grade teacher at Island Pacific Academy in Kapolei.
"I had a great third-grade teacher on Kauai who really inspired me to become a teacher, but singing took me away from that," Medeiros said.
Medeiros started out singing on a Kauai tour bus. At 16 he won the Brown Bags to Stardom talent contest, earning the chance to record a song.
"Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You" shot to the top of the music charts and sparked a string of albums and singles.
"When all of that slowed down, I figured it was a good time to go back to school," he said.
After getting a master's degree in elementary education, Medeiros began teaching about seven years ago, moving to Island Pacific Academy two years ago.
He's just "Mr. Medeiros" to his students, who are oblivious to his past.
"But some of their parents remember me -- or if not them, their grandparents," he said with a laugh.
Music remains in his life. He appears up to three times a week at the Hale Koa Hotel's luau, recently released an album of songs he performs there, and uses song in his class.
Students recently wrote rap songs incorporating a lesson on South America, and Medeiros has written and recorded songs for his students that underline phonetics rules.
He is now planning a doctorate in curriculum studies.
"I just love being around schools and teaching, in whatever capacity. If they need a janitor, I'm pretty good at cleaning," he said.
This update was written by Star-Bulletin reporter Dan Martin.

having read this, how can I not be smitten by him all over again just like those days when I was a teenager!

Glenn, u r not only great with your voice, ur music but u r a great man with great visions.
It motivated me to continuosly upgrade myself, knowing that you have never stop learning.
only good people could lead, influence and motivate because they are good role models.
U r one of these pple and Im glad I have chosen you to be my idol.

Never mind if u dun look as good as before but its ur humble personality that touches many fans' hearts worldwide.
not many succesful recording artises choose to live their lives as positively as you have.
Being a teacher is the most noble thing one will choose to do especially with the fame you once had.

Mak

These few days I have been receiving unhappy news.
On Monday, we visited LH’s cancer stricken father at NUH
His condition is critical and was breathing heavily in his sleep.
He was placed in a special room and only two visitors at a time are allowed to see him.
Prior to this, we had to wash our hands before entering the room.
Upon returning to the office, our GM sms-ed PL, informing that her father in law had passed away
Just then, we learned that SH’s husband will be undergoing an operation to remove a lump-quite serious.
Was informed it was a hereditary illness – some of his ancestors had passed away because of this.
We pray for his recovery.

My family had experienced such mourning moments when Mak was diagnosed with Leukemia almost 9 years ago. Our lives turned upside down overnight-everything happened so quickly, so sudden and so unexpected. Those who know Mak, find it hard to believe that she was so weak then. She was already in her critical stage; doctor predicted that she had only 2 years to survive.

Her time is not up yet, Allah had only wanted to test our faith and patience.
We learned the hard way to be independent, resourceful and fearless for the worst outcomes in life.
A valuable lesson taught which money cannot buy.

Life would be nothing without Mak around- we were not prepared to let her go. Munyra was still very young then, we had just moved to our new place. Life was beginning to pick up for us, and yet we had to face such adversity. I was very down then but looking back, I’m grateful that things turned out the way it was and we are able to unite despite all the toils, struggles, and hardships.

May Allah bless Mak with health, wealth.,Iman , patience and endurance
May her wishes be granted and her life be filled with joys, happiness & prosperities.
Love you, Mak!!

sista's help

having a younger sis who is 16 years younger and 10 years older than my own daughter certainly helps!

juggling work and studies, there are times i have to depend on my sis to check ezzaty's school work, reciting the Quran verses and following up on the teacher's notes..

not to mention having her around the house makes me younger .
religiously updating myself with the latest technolgy being her as the greatest influence :-)

thank you, mun!

friends

These days, I have been reading my friends' blogs-interestingly routine entries.
It's good to have your own blog-keeping in touch with the rest cyberly-
not knowing who will read them, sumtimes unintentionally expose ur secrets for the whole world to know-trying to get attention, in simple words.

I have managed to keep in touch with only few of my friends-VERY FEW!
I dun know where have the rest disappear.
I'm sure thay are still here-they have not migrated except for F

Some friends I rather not keeping touch with-
the arrogants, the snobbishs, the one who thinks a level higher than us when in actual fact they are jus nobody, the ones who love to compare, the ones who love to blow their own trumpets eventhough no conductor instruct hem to do so......so many of these kinds here, I rather not know them but these are the ones who stick to you like glue..Y? showing off lah!

the friends who can swear by you in any climate are really your family members.
agree??

my star

Yesterday, CT n her beau were solemnized in a lavish ceremony, like a royal couple.
It was very detailed and very well planned and with due respect for the holy place,

everyone was formally dressed and ladies were covering their aurat.
Not many ceremonies were smoothly organized,

firstly we dun engaged wedding planners and we dun do rehearsal the day before like CT did.

Weddings getting more and more expensive, wonder how much it will cost for Munyra.
Needless to say, Najmi’s turn will cost him a huge hole in his pockets!

My sweetie pie will one day be the head of a family, looking at his photo, its hard to imagine !

Najmi,
your presence shines with your unconditioned smile
and contagious laughter.

Bully

Ezzaty brought home her photos during the day camp in June.
They were all well-taken by a professional photographer assigned specially for the occasion.

She was extremely jovial and enjoyed herself during the camp, I must say.
She was smiling away, eagerly participating in games, etc
It’s hard to believe that she used to be very reserved and even cried on her first day in school.

I was the only parent allowed to stay in class for the whole session and a bit let-down that my darling was not like the rest - happy, cheerful, approachable and participating.
It was history now – she is very popular in school!

Looking at the photos, she seems to be bigger and taller than her peers.
But sad to note, she has always been the target of bullies, ironically from those smaller ones.
She will not retaliate prefer to complain to her teacher instead.

Since she is in her final year, she WILL not see that bully anymore after the school term ends.
I shall not pursue the matter further, had complained earlier on when she came back home with bruises!
Such a tough luck to be in the same class with the Notorious Girl in School for 3 consecutive years!

M & M

The 2 M hold special place in my heart lately.
So special that they inspire me to write this poem –

BeruMur tetapi tidak bertambah Matang
BerilMu tetapi tidak berwawasan
Berbicara tanpa berfikir dulu
Bertindak selalu mengikut nafsu

Apakah tujuan hidupMu disisi kami?
Inilah pendapatku terhadap kehadiranMu itu.

Yang rapat kau usaha renggangkan
Yang betul kau usaha salahkan
Pujian ditaburkan pada kerabatMu
Cercaan dilemparkan pada kerabatku

Kau tekad lakukan pada darahdagingMu
Hanya untuk menutup kejahilanMu
Apa yang kau raih kesudahannya
Hanya Allah yang tahu jawapannya

Sungguhpun begitu ramai pula komplokMu
Yang membutatuli megikut perangai burukMu
Tiada akal untuk berfikir Tiada pendirian untuk bertindak
Beginilah ragam mereka yang tidak berahklak

Kami sabar menantikan hari bila keadilan
Muncul membela maruah dan harga diri - Amiiin.

Spokesperson

i really give up on this auntie of mine!

she prefers to talk without thinking.
it does not matter if ultimately it gets somebody into trouble,

her main concern is to get pple's attentions!

i have had enough of her nonsense but i can't do ANYTHING!-
can't stop her, can't advise her..
i dun understand why the rest still choose to believe what she said, knowing
what's her character like?!

leopard snever change its spots, neither will she ever change her character...
and her population of ardent listeners seem to be growing...
very powerful speaker eh..dats y she's our unofficial spokesperson for so many decades!

assignment-exams

Technical difficulties!! so many times, so frustrating!!
few days gone..SIGH!

many things had happened..
on positive note, i had completed my assignment
days before the dateline..very ver very happy bout that!

now i can concentrate for the coming exam on 4 sept.
hope will not have the jitters on the day-
it's been 4 years since i last sat for any exam...

(had to re-do)

guess what??
my assignemnt was not that great afterall....

it was a busy weekends! no regrets, looking back i had not wasted time doing nothing. weekends are family time and most of the time we spend time together at home.

last sat, after class, i headed straight to NUH with ani to visit our uncle rapan.made plans to meet up wuth alia and kak nia, there. we expected a crowd but there were only bg ucop n family. glad that uncle rapan could finally be allowed to consume food, the last time i visited him, he had nothing for 3 days.

me, ani & kak nia had dinner at WestMall in BK, was already 9 plus, thought going for window shopping but it was kinda late, especially with amira starting to feel restless.

sunday-it was last minute decision going to the S'pore Expo for the NLB books sales..it was a good bargain.bought 23 books for only $43/- ! Had variety of collection from books on management, tips on how to study, health care, fiction and self enrichment on getting hired after 30 days!

we went geylang serai market before that, i bought 5 pcs of blouses for $50/- worth buying!

me?wat have i done all these years?

It's lunch time, i'm alone in the office as usual.
prefer to be indoor because i dun like crowds.
will lose my appetite knowing that there's someone standing behind me
WAITING for the seat. how to eat in peace?

Anyway, besides Burger King, i don't have any other favourite lunch spot.
food here are costly, especially Malay nasi bungkus.

I got a sms from Juffrey, instead of me & ani visiting him, he & his mum are more keen to come over n visit us!

He's leaving for Arizona to assume greater responsibility as an office manager-LUCKY CHAP!
only working for 2 weeks, already posted to overseas. when will it be my turn??
It will be good for a change in everything-place,people,culture...
he will b there for a year, so me & ani would like to bid him farewell and its been ages since we last met.

I hve been thinking alot lately about my life, why some of my friends can be so successful in life, n why am I so tied dowm with routine chores?

hmm..:-(

happy blogging

After reading siti suriati's blog, I was inspired to create one.
and finally after much hassle,-BINGO at last my very own blog :)

Nothing much to note for a start, but I hope today will be much2x better than yesterday.
It was such a drag, waiting for lunch time was like forever.
Maybe, I was still in the holiday mood - post National Day syndrome.

Having to go through past years records made it worse, my face was itching with dust!

I skipped last night religious class, the night before I was burning the midnight oil drafting my assignment.
It was not that easy as I thought it will be.
Open book assignment which will contribute 50% for the examination score is much 'tougher'.
So many things to type-I found myself lost!
I am so much out of the context!

And I was so tired that when it was time to feed Najmi-I can hardly open my eyes.

National day this year was a memorable one, apart from the National Stadium, my uncle Rapan was hospitalized, my 'beloved' relatives' held gathering without us and we celebrated Munyra's birthday without Alia and family :-(
